The Role:

As a Full Stack Data Engineer in our Data Platform Development team, you will play a critical role in designing and developing data pipelines that enable data architects and end-users to work with large-scale data insights. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and developing highly scalable, low-latency data pipelines that integrate with our data lakehouse
  • Building and maintaining data models, storage structures, and access mechanisms for our data lakehouse
  • Developing streaming cycles for real-time data processing and event-driven architecture
  • Improving data engineer efficiency and self-serve capabilities by contributing to our stream data processing framework
  • Owning the data engineering framework as-code for provisioning services that enable our engineers to deploy mature software applications within hours
  • Coaching other back-end engineers in the team and assisting them in their growth
  • Building and contributing to AWS high-scale distributed frameworks
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and implement data-driven solutions

What We're Looking For:

We're seeking a talented and motivated individual who embodies our energetic values: moral, versatile, abrasive, compassionate, and surprising. As a Full Stack Data Engineer, you will have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Proficiency in Python, Scala, or Java
  • Experience designing and developing database systems and writing SQL queries
  • Experience planning and standing up APIs and services
  • Experience with system design and building internal tools
  • Experience working with applications that handle data from data lakes
  • Experience building internal administrator sites
  • Good knowledge of and some experience with AWS (or Purple or GCE, with a willingness to learn AWS quickly)
  • The ability to proficiently choose an open-source or third-party tool to achieve a goal or devise a quick and simple solution on your own
